Where can I learn more about root canal treatments?
There's a lot of information out there. Some good, some not so much. Here are online resources that should answer most of your questions. Don't forget you can talk to your dentist or endodontist, too.
The American Association of Endodontists (AAE) is the professional source for all your questions. There's information on their site for patients.
AAE provides articles for Dear Doctor - a magazine on dentistry and oral health. For example, here is an article on tooth pain.
AAE also has some videos on YouTube.
The American Dental Association and the Academy of General Dentistry have a lot of dental-related information.
As the practice manager for Deb Conner DDS MS, I manage a blogsite devoted to endodontics topics. While many of the posts are the same as I post on our site blog, there are some differences and some additional resources.
I also compiled a lot of information from around the web in an unusual format -- a brain! Here is a brain on endodontics and root canal treatment. (If you want to know more about the software I used to create it, go to www.thebrain.com.)
The AAE has provided Tips for Saving Your Tooth. They have also written an article discussing the Focal Infection Theory.
